Broadband radar cross‐section reduction using random chessboard coding metasurface

In this letter, a random chessboard coding metasurface is designed to reduce radar cross section (RCS). We select wideband and polarization-independent 2-bit unit cell arrange the proposed metasurface. Combining super cells by convolution operations sequence using particle swarm optimization method, thus, reflected waves can be diffused uniformly. Compared with conventional metasurfaces, increase numbers of scattered lobes greatly. The simulation results demonstrate that RCS reduction over 10 dB achieved ranging from 15.5 40 GHz, maximum up 31 dB. experimental basically agree ones.
